The one I was hitting last week seemed to have a reaction. Some redness and swelling which later escalated to some puffiness and some dying.

it depends on the dolphin, my dolphin is and whenever i have to do repair work that involves hammers she breaks out in hives and sneezes! its really weird, but one time i took a dolphin in that was homeless for a week and he wasnt,
now i have 24 dolphins because my dolphin and that dolphin decided to have fun, i dont know why i kept him, hes just a nuisence

they are about as allergic to hammers as you would be to bullets.
