he doesnt have the internet,he uses it to make music and burn cd's.all of a sudden the welcome screen popped up and when it finally came back on everything was gone.his media player,all his saved files,his pics.he is devistated,is there ANY chance that these things could still be in the computer PLEASE help us.thanks so much

YES. YOU go to http://wwwrestoration.com and download the Program on a Floppy Disk and INSTALL it on HIS Computer and you can find what you need. Just type in the Jpg,jpeg,etc... and it will come back up and you can copy it on the desktop and then you can put it in a Folder in Documents or wherever you want to.

If you can get onto Windows then use the RESTORE utility to restore the computer to a few days ago. Do the following:
go to Start>Program Files>System Tools> System Restore
.. you should get everything back.. Good Luck

Yes most likely they are on there, it is merely a matter of looking at your drives and seeing what is there.
( unless he did some master delete all info or something)
Also the main hard drive could be bad cuasing issues.
This is of course why you always have and use a seperate back up system.

Take it to a computer expert in the yellow pages. This happens all the time and they can get it back.
