Harold Eugene Ford, Sr of Tennessee (born 20 May 1945) was a Member of the US House of Representatives from 1975 to 1997. He was born in Memphis. When he retired he was succeeded in his Congressional District by his son, Harold Ford, Jr, who is now running for the vacant US Senate seat being vacated by Bill Frist against Republican Bob Corker. Ford, Sr retired to Miami, Florida, where he is still active in Democratic politics.
