most likley not, They would deposit it in their bank on Monday and it would clear your bank Tuesday - Thursday. Most checks take 3 days and longer to clear. Good luck, I know all about doing that.

I have been in banking all my life and can tell you that it is a possibility. If the financial institution you do your banking with participates in Check21, a government program that allows financial institutions to clear checks more easily by providing a copy of the physical check versus the actual check...just to sum it up, than it is feasible. However, I don't know whom you made you check payable to. Was it is a bill that you were paying with a vendor of some sort? Like the energy company. If it is was than that company just like a person, would have to deposit the funds into their business account and wait for it to clear. Also, the federal reserve (The institution that ultimately processes all bank drafts by check) is closed on Sunday. With all that said, then sorry to say yes the check could post before Tuesday. More than likely, it would post Tuesday. Just don't write a check if you don't have the funds available.

Alot of times... when you write a check to a store.. they run the check and it's already on its way to being cleared by midnight of that night.. They check and make sure the funds are available in your account at the time of you writting it...

If you have online banking.. that's easiest to see when you write a check or make a purchase with your debit card.. you'll notice that establishment's name and then a small sum next to it.. It's called a hold..

I hope for you it doesn't bounce but as the other person said.. they passed the law so us folks who live paycheck to paycheck can't buy groceries on wednesday even though we don't get paid until friday.. Gotta have the money in the bank for what you're writting a check for.

Very good possibility. Depends on how quickly the person you wrote the check to gets to the bank.

like I said on your other post, most places cash checks electronically so it really isnt a matter of is the check will get to the bank as most checks are simply destoryed, some places take your check, process it then hand it right back to you. So yes, your check will bounce

A new law was passed to prevent "kiting" checks in scenarios just as you described.

It will bounce on Monday - don't be fooled. The only way it wouldn't bounce is if the store/person to whom you wrote the check did NOT deposit it until Monday 4pm.

Depends on the person you are giving the check to. If they take it to your bank on Monday then it probably would. If they don't take it until Wednesday, then no. Too many variables to really know.
