John Lewis sell adopt-a-animal packs for £29.99, otherwise try www.careforthewild.com I have adopted a bear for my friend off there, however it has still not arrived after a week so I am getting a little annoyed now. It was 24.99 though.

So. A person adopting an animal is the same as having one as a pet. Just hope it is a small shark

It is a good idea, and the Adopt a Shark website actually lets you track your shark's behavior in the wild, so your daughter will get to see "her" shark and how it behaves. It will give her something to keep track of rather than just donating some money, and not being able to see where the money goes. Pretty cool!

You'll need a very big aquarium! But seriously, if you mean adopt one through some wildlife organization, I think it's a great idea. Your daughter will end up learning a lot about sharks and wildlife.

I would have her explain to you why she wants to adopt a shark. If it is because of a concern for the welfare of animals or the environment, I would encourage her to do so, but don't let her get scammed by any phonys who are just out to get money for nothing.

i think it's called a dwarf shark, but it looks similar to a nurse shark. quite small. its not as cool looking as those other sharks, but it is a shark and it would make a nice pet :D

I think you should let her. If she wants to be involved in the environment and if it is gonna make her feel like she helping make a change somewhere in this world...let her. It's a good idea to support stuff that will make a change.
