Please help I have no idea and I can't find an answer anywhere!

A monarch comes to power due to an accident of birth and can actually be benevolent. A totalitarian dictator usually comes to power through violent action to subdue the legal gov't and almost always has his own greed and malevolence as the focus of his governance.

A monarch is a ruler by birth, like a king or queen; a totalitarian dictatorship is a form of government that suppresses individual freedoms and rights, presumably for the common good of all.

As well as that which has already been said: A monarch has very little real power whereas a totalitarian dictatorship has full control.
