I absolutely love math. In fact, it's how I make a living. But even beyond my career, I enjoy doing math anytime in any setting.
Where did this attitude come from?
1. I've always been naturally good at it, so I rarely experienced the kind of frustration that tends to turn people off of various subjects.
2. I always enjoy taking on challenges, of any kind, and I always feel a high of sorts from facing a challenge and beating it. Math gives me an opportunity to feel that quite often. Although I've always been good at it, it's not necessarily so easy that working out problems is a bore to me.
3. When I was a freshman in college, I grew to love math far more. I enrolled in a new experimental honors calculus class in which the theoretical aspects of calculus were emphasized. It showed me how beautiful math can be. For the first time, I saw math as something that is constantly evolving, and in my mind that makes it just as much of an art as a science; it grows from our own perceptions and our ability to communicate them, just as art does. Sadly, this is a perspective that many students never get to see, because they only take math up through calculus and never go any further.

Dumb ppl on here. You're obviously asking our views on math. My view on math is that basic skills are needed in everyday life such as mulitplication, addition, subtraction, division, percents, decimals, and fractions. However, stuff such as the distance fornula, all this stuff with triangles, proofs, logic, pathogoreum theorum are all things that mathmaticians use, but not everyday people. For example I want to get into advertising when I get older, but I checked and I do not need all of this stuff. I don't like math, even though I'm reallly good at it. I have reached this conclusion however because my math teacher is a total ***** and b/c i figured out a different way to find out the answer to her problem, she told me I had an attitude problem. Hope this helps with you study!

I like math. It usually has only one or two answers to a question. My 6th grade teacher and my high school math teacher made it seem really interesting and fun to me.
I hope you get a lot more real answers. Collating the reasons will probably be difficult, though.
BTW In order for your survey to be more representative, you need to ask your question under a lot of categories. People who don't like math tend to avoid the subject.

"Mathematics is the language in which God created the Universe" -- Dr. Richard Alcala.
I worked with Dr. A in a science lab in New Jersey. I believe he is correct.
