I am here at home with no contractions, no water breaking and every one is calling me every second to see if I popped yet which is stressing me out. I know alot of times people go over thier due date but is there ANYTHING I CAN DO TO MOVE THIS ALONG? I just get these sharp quick pains when I stand up but only when I stand up. It goes away as soon as I sit.

Having sex is the best way to induce labor naturally. The semen soften the cervix and your orgasm is a GREAT way to start contractions. If you can't do that then walk walk walk...up and down stairs and/or hills helped me when I was trying. Good luck to you, but don't get discouraged, your baby will come when he/she is ready, like around 3 in the morning! :)

Oddly enough, I am in the extact same situation as you, today is my due date as well. My parents are stalking me on the phone, as are my friends, so this is what I did. I changed my answering machine to just say that no I haven't had the baby, I will have my husband call them when it happens so relax, and I am taking a lot of walks. That's about all you can do, nipple stimulation is a very bad idea. Often the contractions can last up to ten minutes with nipple stimulation, making it not only painful for you, but also is dangerous for your baby. What I can suggest is keep yourself busy, take long walks, watch a movie, do laundry, anything to keep your mind off having that baby, when you least expect it, that is when it will happen.. Good luck!!! :)

If your doctor has not suggested anything, then I have no clue.. Umm, I know after I did a lot of walking I went into labour...but I was 37 weeks. Maybe that will help. Try taking a slow walk. Hang in there, if nothing is wrong, then everything should be fine. Congrats

Rasberry leaf tea can help as can fresh pineapple. Tweeking one nipple at a time can bring on contractions I've heard or do what my widwife said to do- a drop of whiskey in rasberry leaf tea and a warm bath. I did it at 8:30 at night and 1 hour later my waters broke. I was tweeking my nipple also. Hope this helps :)

Have sex, walking and nipple stimulation are some ways to help get labor started. Bottom line is that your baby is going to come when it is good and ready.

Good luck!!

When my daughter was overdue her doctor told her walking, sex, and eating spicy food would help her along. It's worth a try.

The only thing that my doctor told me was to walk, walk, walk. I tried the spicy food, sex, ect. nothing worked. So as long as you don't hurt too much, walk!
