It really a knock, or a tapping...is it high on the engine or low towards the bottom...all these things are indicators of the real problem.
Spark knock is caused by gasoline with too low an octane rating. That sounds more like pinging when you accelorate.
A tapping at the top of the engine could be a problem in the valve train someplace.
The fact that it goes away at higher RPM could be due to higher oil pressure, and depending on what is the original cause of the sound, other noises could be blocking it out.
A knocking at the bottom of the engin could indicate a worn bearing on the crankshaft.

This sounds more like a mechanical engine knock than a fuel/spark knock. At idle the oil pressure is lower and if your engine is old or worn out, engine parts will bang together. At higher rpms the oil pressure goes up and helps eliminate this problem. The longer you wait to fix this, the more it will cost. If ignored, eventually something will break.

First you need to find out what is the efficiency of your viscosity in your engine at idle,if you swear by using some brand of oil and has a very high mileage vehicle it may be time to change to a better grade oil with better suspension properties,so that you can have more lubrication on start up when your vehicle wears the most. You can do some simple tests to see if you have engine wear in your engine block on the bearings, start the vehicle and warm it up for ten minutes and then turn it off ,pull out the dipstick and turn it with your back against the sun and let the light of day shine on the dipstick where the oil is if you see metallic sparkles in the oil you have parts on your engine that is wearing and needs to make a decisions as to your next move, good luck ,hope I was helpful.

This sounds like an engine with lots of miles on it and worn bearings, pistons etc. At low speeds the pistons tend to slap the cylinder walls but at higher speeds they tend to balance with less noise.
Try using a thicker oil; some manufacturers like Castrol make a special oil for engines with high mileage.

knocking occurs when the spark produced by the spark plug does not produce at the stipulated time and sparks little late.so that the charge in the combustion chamber reaches auto ignition temperature.for you knocking occurs due to ignition lag.because of the increase in speed the ignition lag gets disppear.so there is no knock at high speeds.

It could be the gas you're using. Try using Super Unleaded for a while and see how that effects your tank.
