When I doc the iPod I get "Do Not Disconnect" forever and nothing else. There is no connection. I've tried everything, all 5 steps recommended on the iPod support site. I can't even get the iPod updater to engage to update or restore the thing to factory settings. I've downloaded all the latest software, I've deleted it all, downloaded it again, etc. I've resetted the iPod countless times, I've reinstalled iTunes and iPod software and restarted my computer 4 times. I CAN'T do a restore. The computer just can't seem to detect the USB connection. Yes, I'm using all the equipment that came with the original iPod. HELP! All I want to do is sych the damn thing with newly downloaded music.

I had that prob. Make sure you have the new version of Itunes and that you dont have it automatically update when you plug it in.! good luck

properly, the manually importing songs is the answer for your concern. even with songs you want to "delete", in simple terms uncheck them and click on "Sync/replace iPod" from the record menu. That way, they're nevertheless on your iTunes yet are deleted off of your iPod. First even with the indisputable fact that, be particular your iPod is switched over to lead. good luck

iTunes 7 has bugs! Artwork on the iPod will not show and other problems I've hearing about so, I downgraded back to iTunes 6 and all my artwork and everything else came back.

I have heard there are issues with the new itunes update. I was told not to update until they get the bugs out. Not sure if that is your problem or not.

you may have to install a driver but if you go onto http://www.apple.com/uk and look at the top toolbar and click support that should help if you follow instructions or if you are very stuck you can talk to somebody live (like msn) but who is a ipod specialist and he will talk you through it. otherwise if none of that happens - go to your nearest apple store and get them to send it off to be fixed
