My parents divorced when I was four and my younger sister was about eleven months. This was back in 1966,and my father never paid child support. In fact,his family told him not to since there wasn't any law requiring him to do so.
Now that we're grown,you have these "Deadbeat Dad" laws. My mom could have really used that back then.

Look at the solutions. What causes the child to need support. a vacant parent, living and more than likely in able health, but absent from the one they love or professed a love for.
Is divorce the problem? yes
Is there an answer for that? maybe, probably , no there definately is, because for 5 generations of Humanity, or more, there was no such thing as a Divorce.
Was it better? maybe
Was it worse? we survived, so something worked.
I never got married cause I knew I was to irresponsible to handle that stuff. But lotsa my friends married, are divorced and now remarried to divorced parents of someone elses children.
Should a parent be held responsible for the life they help create? absolutley.
Should a parent be forced to take care of a child? that is impossible. Care is given it cannot be mandated and still have any worth.
Can a person buy happiness? I dunno
Can a person buy Love.Honor and Respect? no way.
Are Custody laws fair? If both parties agree to the seperation,then they are.

I don't think the fathers get a fair shake. They should have just as many rights as the mothers. In the entire ilfe of a child the father is just as important (in some cases more so) as mothers.

Definitely not. Although I was very lucky as a father. Married twice, divorced twice, got custody twice. But I've got to admit it was hard battling the system that exists.

definitely not. My daughter has to hand over her children to their dad every weekend from Fri to Sun. He stays with them for an hour, then passes them on to his alcoholic mother.
Mean while we don't get chance to see our grandchildren.
