okay, i'm not generalizing here but i'm simply going from what i observe in my area. a lot of half white half black people encourage blacks to date whites yet most of them only date exclusively other half white half black mixed race people like themselves. doesn't that sound hypocritical? to me it does.

I understand personal observances completely.

It may be comfort. A lot of times, you are drawn to what you know... I know they say "opposites attract" but that is contridicted by "birds of a feather, flock together". You seek what is similar to you.

It might sound hypacritical, but throughout life, people say things about situations, then learn things about it, then change their minds about it.

Perhaps they are not considering the color of someone's skin when choosing to date them. It could be that they are attracted to them for other reasons. Also, people tend to be attracted to other people that look similar to themselves (not always, of course).
