You should definately go see the world, I think you're being a little paranoid Kikime. Ha ha, i've lived in England all my life and I've never caught mad cow disease. I went to uni where half the students came from China and singapore, never caught Bird Flu! Seriously, you should come, you might actually enjoy yourself. The most fun i;ve ever had was definately on holiday. America is really cool but you have to experience places like Paris or London, it's just absolutely awesome and nothing like you would expect!

If you ever came to London you know i'd show you around my dear :)

I don't pay attention to that stuff too much. I will say that the people I have read about that has died of the bird flu virus actually touched the dead animal or worked with them. I maybe wrong, but I don't think anyone has died from actually eating meat. As far as mad cow disease goes...I don't know. I guess that I would prefer to live my life to the fullest doing what I enjoy instead of sitting at home and fretting over plane crashes and possible illness from traveling. I figure that I have a better chance of dying in a car crash on my way to or from work than traveling to a foreign country.

You have to be kidding me. Maybe you should go live in a sterile bubble. Do you bring your hand sanitizer everywhere with you? Well you wouldn't want to travel to the places I have been then. Dirty poor third world countries in the Middle East and Central and South Western Asia. Yeah I got my shots but after that I didn't worry. Your body gets stronger if it builds up a natural immunity to things and you will alway pick up a cold or fly when you travel because you haven't been exposed to it yet. I have gotten sick coming back to Canada after a year because I wasn't resistant to the new flu strains yet. Come on that is so paranoid. Maybe you should see a doctor about that.

Yes, I do know what you mean, and you've got much better chances of catching something if you hang around a hospital. :)

I like traveling. Traveling light and traveling cheaply, which means living like the locals do, as much as possible. The only times I've caught anything, its invariably been from other tourists who were already sick and failed to mention that fact until I'd been hanging out with them for some time. Go figure.

Go ahead and go. Take basic precautions like looking at Traveler's Advisories, being up to date on your vaccinations, washing your hands frequently, and avoiding street food vendors (until you've been in the area long enough to know the score)... You'll be fine and it'll be just as fun and educational and adventurous as you allow it be.

You are missing a great world out there-so much to see and to do.
