How many times has Minn. beaten Yanks in playoffs? answer: 0

I don't think Minn. and Det. pitching would look so good if they were facing the Yanks all the time. Haha!!! I love it.

Jeffery, You're talking about 1/2 run difference in ERA, while the Yankees have scored well over 100 more runs than either of those teams.

Dear Adumb, Not that it matters, but there's no scenario that has the Yanks and A's playing against each other in the first round.

I wouldn't call A's 6 wins to Yanks 3, "owned" but I would call 26 world champs to (next most) 9 "dominating"

The Yankees obviously have a great tradition and organization. But there were many Yankee fans asking the same smug question in 2001 and 2003. They were heavily favored against both the Diamondbacks and Marlins and couldn't come through. In 2004 they had the Bosox down 3-0 in the A.L championship and couldn't pull the trigger (lack of killer instinct). For a team whom has the highest payroll in baseball over the last 10 years to not win the World Series each and every year in the last ten is a joke and a disappointment. And you being a fan of the Yankees must feel cheated by their performance. They haven't won the series since 2000. They have definitely underperformed when you take their payroll into consideration, and Major League Baseball's lack of a salary cap. Oh by the way the I think the Dodgers will come out of the N.L. Thanks for the question.

If Detroit wins their division, the Yankees will indeed make the Series. Winning it is a completly different story.

However, if Minnesota ends up winning (Detroit would have to lose again.), they'll play Oakland, who will beat them. Oakland is really the biggest threat to the Yankees, but Detroit seems to match up agaisnt them well. If Oakland doesn't have to play Detroit, it will be THEM in the WS. And before anyone says anything smart, consider how bad the A's have owned the Yankees this season when both teams were injury depleted.

The A's projected post season rotation is Zito, Haren, Harden, Blanton, Loiaza...

Offense wins games, pitching wins championships... at least, the AL Championship.

ACTUALLY, GENIUS, I KNOW THE YANKS WONT PLAY THE A'S IN THE FIRST ROUND! I WAS INSENUATING THAT THE TWINS DON'T STAND A CHANCE AGAINST THE A'S BECAUSE THE A'S PITCHING STAFF HAS RIPPED THEM.

Grow up, kid.

Mets will be there because the rest of the NL is weak. Yankees have a great lineup, but do not have the pitching this year. They will not be in the World Series.

The Mets. The Mets are the only good team in the NL. The Cards are slipping. The Padres and Dodgers just happen to be in the worst division in the history of forever.

My friend, pitching wins championships, not hitting.

The Yankees won those championships with pitching not hitting. If you are a Yankee fan, you should know that.

Which has to scare you this year, because their pitching is average (and worse than the Twins and Detroit)

If they Astros dont make the playoffs, then the Mets will get theirs whipped by the Yankees.

I think thier little sisters the Mets will have the honors to get their buts spanked by the Yanks again in the WS.

Careful what you wish for. The Mets have the Yankees matched player-for-player.
