You mean, how do I wipe my hard drive clean. The CPU is the main processor chip (eg Pentium).
Reinstalling windows won't clean off all the junk and speed your computer back up, if that's what you're hoping...
Anyway, If you really want to start clean, go into the BIOS and find the option to do a low-level reformat of the hard drive. To get into the BIOS, reboot the computer and watch the screen for which key you need to hit (usually F1 or Delete).
Make sure you have a bootable disk handy because after you reformat the hard drive, it won't have an operating system until you reinstall.
good luck

The cpu is the central processing unit, which is a chip on the mainboard that processes data sent to it and sends the results to the right places.
The operating system is software that is written on a magnetic disk, which is called the hard drive.
To wipe the operating system from the hard drive, put the XP installation disc in the optical drive, and go through the installation process. At a certain point, it will ask what you want to do about there being an operating system already installed on the partition, and you can choose format, and install a new XP there.

Do you know the difference between a CPU and a Hard Drive.
Format your hard drive and reinstall windows. You don't really want to wipe your CPU.....there goes the BIOS and Math coprocesser.

I have wiped out everything off of my computer by putting in the original cd that came with the computer. shut the computer down and then while it is booting up put the disc in and a menu will come up you will have to choose the one that says that it will format the c drive and reinstall the operating system like the computer was brand new straight from factory.

Go here. Buy and download Linspire or click on the link for Freespire and download that instead. Freespire is Free. Burn it to a CD and then run it. Have it reformat your hard drive for you.
Now you will never have to worry about that pesky Windows nonsense anymore, and you will have an excellent version of Linux on your machine with a dedicated center to pick up applications from and update your machine from.
You will also never have to worry about viruses ever again.
