In physics, a hold up occurs when I'm locating the picture on the wall and the "BOSS" says "Hold it up a little higher."
A stick up occurs when she hands me the tape and says, "Stick it up right there."

If the robber says "Hold'em up!" - then it is a hold up.
If the robber says "Stick'em up!" then it is a stick up.
What's this question doing in physics any way?
