When USA stop sticking its nose into other countries' business and bullying them, then things will get better at home. When USA concentrates on its own problems, it will become a society that the world respects and admires.

I guess then the US would then earn back the respect it is owed by other nations... But, as my grand used to say, respect doesn't put food on your plate, or, in the case we're talking about, money in your pocket, which I believe is the crux of the situation the US is in at the moment.
I think it is high time for individual people in the US to get together and decide what they want to do with their country, bearing in mind that the current situation is unsustainable.
The Americans need to be given the prerogative their government refused other nations: The right to take control of their own destinies in their own country in their own time.

If the U.S.A. president one day decides not to be the 'big brother of the world.' - It would be a BETTER world! Use our Armies to protect us, not to attack others.

I do not understand why we have to make other countries on this planet bow down to
our wishes, our standards, our beliefs.
Leave them alone!

And you know what REALLY scares me?
The fact that all those other countries
think that WE THE PEOPLE go along with
what our government is doing!

Nobody likes a bully!
They all hate us! (U.S)

that is the most SENSIBLE question i have ever heard anyone ask on this forum.- why do we have to have a hand in every little dispute that occurs in the world. if left to others , they would work it out themselves one way or the other. if we were to keep our resources to ourselves, just think of the problems we could solve right here at home.
Washington warned in his farewell speech about getting involved in the affairs of other nations. how right he was. How wrong we are not to have taken his words to heart.
it is sad to see others having so many troubles, but i think that we only add to them when we try to solve them. the farther you walk in a cow pasture the dirtier your feet will get . and i think we should jump back over the fence before we are into it WAY UP over our heads.
thank you for the question. i hope everyone on this forum reads it and thinks about it for themselves. take care --blackmule

Do you know what Don Quixote was about?
I sincerely wish Bush or America wouldn't interfere. They usually make matters worse.
And note - America is not synonymous with Philanthropy.

Yes we could pull in our resources for our own uses paying attention to the needs of America, but we would still need to global citizens with a weary eye on all participants.

I would just like a president that was as interested in his country as he is with everyone elses. Ever watched that movie "Team America: World Police"? Totally laughed my butt off because it's SOOOO true!

Won't EVER happen.

The USA still gets way more for all its trouble in the form of open markets for goods and services than it spends on all the "trouble" you describe.

YOU may not feel you benefit from USA-"worldcop", but the overwhelming balance of the US population relies on the BS situation in the world.

The US lives and dies on trade and on having open sea lanes, both of which rely on military presence and spending and on international gamesmanship and goodwill.

Anyone who comes into another country and calls the leader of that country a devil is NOT alright.....

There is a growing number of people that are no longer buying CITGO gasoline for the sole reason it comes from Venezuela. I am proud to be one of those people.
