Sadly, service and hospitality of employees was rude and very unfriendly. Cashiers were the rudest, asking for change or cashing in your coins was like you were putting them out. The corridor floors for your rooms always had room service trays left for hours, and also a used condom was left at the Coke vending machine, which had no ice machine.

Buffet had to be the worst for the price you had to pay. The Tropicana has to rank at the bottom ten. I think the Tropicana should end up like the Dunes, Sands, and few of the older hotels because it has seen its better days long ago.

Although it's the smallest part of the "billion-dollar quartet" at the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard -- its neighbors are the MGM Grand, The Excalibur and New York-New York -- the Tropicana more than earns its reputation for classic charm, high luxury and, above all, comfort. Diamonds may be forever, but the Tropicana runs a close second.

I liked it. Great location on the strip. A bit older like the Flamingo, but renovated. Have fun!!

By the way, in looking at various answers and ratings...I wonder how long it has been since those who degrade the Tropicana or Flamingo have actually been there and stayed?? Even if you go to Vegas every six months, everything is different! Also, you are not in your room much anyway, too much to see and do.

Tropicana is dated and well past its prime.
Spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere else

The place is the very worst place to stay. The entire place has a very strong mold smell. DO NOT stay there, even if it's free. The place needs to be torn down and hauled off to the nearest dump!
