I believe you may need some Anti-biotics to reduce and eradicate the flare up and redness, and then some long term medication to keep it under control. Two medicines that i took were

Oxytetracycline & Flucoxcillin (Anti-biotic) but that depends on your medical history, you need to get in touch with your Local GP! And based on the severity of your condition prescrive you medication. Herbal pills do not work and nor do i reccommend taking any. See your GP for a through examination and prognosis!

I'm not sure herbal tablets would work for acne as this is caused by a blocked oil duct which then gets infected. This is often the result of large amounts of various hormones in the bloodstream. Keeping the skin clean & oil free which an antiseptic cleanser can help, also a course of special antibiotics that you can get from your doctor.
