Some people think that a state of eternal war is now more likely for the foreseeable future. I see little evidence of any less intolerance in the world so unless we can genetically modify out these human failings or rapidly get a lot more equality spread evenly around the globe and a lot less personal greed and selfishness in peoples hearts then eternal peace is as far away as it's ever been.

The only way to have a world without war is to have a world without religion

Only when there is a world without men.

A lead-on question is whether man can survive the next global catastrophe, whether it comes in the form of an ice age or an asteroid (or a nuclear holocaust). Perhaps some will survive, but the general hypothesis is, if they do, they will resort to primitive tribalism, survival of the fittest mentality. Man has made great advances over the millennia, but we must always remember that, in fact, man is an animal.

Well, I think thats a very optimistic goal...but I really dont see it ever occuring. The simple fact is that each country has gained their own distinct culture....any large scale attempt to force these cultures to fuse would be a futile attempt. People have just grown too different to be able to go back to being alike...and being alike is really the only way I see of there being no war.

Its a great wish....and I definetly dont see it happening anytime soon.

Well, there never has been, so I don't think that that will ever change. As long as there are differences of opinions, or religion, or ways of life - the wars will continue. Sad, isn't it, that after all these years, and all the wars, that man hasn't learned to live in peace and harmony.

As most biologists pointed out the evolution of man started when we realised we were able to throw stones.
violence is as inherent to man as eating and drinking. It's a harsh reality but as long as there is man there will be war

Well that is attainable but not with the way we currently handle issues the world all over, let there be food for guns, aids for nuclear programs.and let us embrace one anothers religion, that should do the trick.

Sadly no, if it's not religion, its oil or fishing grounds, or religion, or money, or greed, or religion, or racism or.... oh, well you get the idea. Unless you count the Mars, no war there (as far as I'm aware).
