Darling, I'm sorry you feel this way. However, I feel that I must answer a question with a question: Why are ANY stereotypes active? As a woman of color, I have had to battle much harder stereotypes than the ones you've mentioned, including racial/ethnic, gender, and religious stereotypes, and I stopped asking myself a long time ago why stereotypes are made.
The point is, you have to love yourself. Ignore the judgements and the generalizations that go zooming about in this world and live your life the way you want to. As long as you focus on yourself, you'll be just fine.

You didn't say WHO was being judgemental. Is it peers or older folks? If it is peers, well, it just isn't their thing.
If it is older folks.....well....from day one, prostitutes have dressed extremely flashy, over use of makeup, lipstick, low cut dresses and short dresses. Ladies that dress that way have always been though of as slummy and probably always will be even tho many of the young Ladies, that dress that way now, are good girls.
When I say "prostitutes" I am talking about the ones in the red light districts.....NOT the $1000. and up, per night, prostitutes that dress like she is going to an opra show and are well mannered and such. In other words, HIGH CLASS PROSTITUTES. Same job, just different social standing. My opinion.....young ladies should NOT dress in a way to show as much skin as possible. Leave SOMETHING to the imagination......please. Just not very becoming. Pops
I hear Dolly say, one time, that she used to ride the mule and wagon to down with her dad. She would see the "highly dresses" prostitutes and wanted to dress us like them.......and she does.

Because I think everyone falls into a stereotype. I remember when my daughter was 13; she wore way too much eye make-up. It was just a phase. You sound like a fine young lady and you express yourself very well. Keep up the good work!

I don't think ALL teenagers are "slutty dressers" etc., but I'd say that stereotype comes from THE MALL. Unfortunately, girls who do dress that way stand out and represent your generation. Lousy but true.

When you walk in the park, you notice the dandelions and not the grass even though there's 1000 blades of grass for each little yellow flower.
The slutty dressers stand out.

cuz when girls become teenagers they are often insecure with themselves and like to experiment with their sexuality and because its so common it becomes a stereotype. i agree with you i'm like that too but really it doesn't matter there will always be stereotypes, even if everyone was exactly the same
