True Blue is a patriotic Australian folk song written in 1981 by singer-songwriter John Williamson. The song makes considerable use of Australian slang, with the title being an example of this, meaning totally Australian. True Blue is often performed at sporting events and was performed by Williamson twice on acoustic guitar at the Steve Irwin Tribute; once shortly after the beginning ceremony, and then again at the end as Steve's truck was driven out of the Crocoseum for the final time.

At the memorial John WIlliams, after all the opening remarks by the Prime Minister and such, sang Steve Irwin's favorite song "True Blue' and then reprised it with the Australian choir at the end of the service while Brian (Steve's right hand croc man as he was called) loaded Steve's truck and then drove it out for of the Crocoseum for the last time to an honor guard of all the zoo employees. Where also that the choir placed the floral arrangements on the ground to shape and spell Steve's signature "Crickey" as the song ended.

However, there was John William's other song that the choir also joined in on was something that went like "He made a home among the gum trees....... " and ended with "..and a old rocking chair".
