people refer to 9/11 as 9-1-1.....as if they were making a phone call instead of referring to a date???

I watch A LOT of news and hear people on the news refer to it that way. Even the President has referred to it as 9-1-1. It drives me batty. I would prefer to hear it called "the day Islamofacists attacked us on our own soil". But that's just me!

I've never heard of that, but it would bother me if they did. It bothers me when people refer to it as '9/11'. It has become cliched through which none of the tragedy and drama of the event is conveyed.

To be honest with you, I've never seen 9/11 referred to in that way but yeah it would bother me.

Yes it would but I am one of the lucky ones that haven't yet seen it used that way.

well they picked that date on purpose, just because of the phone thing, as long as we always remember and not make a joke out of it or make light of it, really I don't mind, but thanks for the thought,
