Type A personality is a term used to describe people who display the following behaviors:

Insatiable desire to achieve their goals
Strong willingness to compete in all situations
Strong desire for recognition and advancement
Desire to multitask under time constraints
Always in a rush to finish activities
Type B people are characterized by a lack of: drive, ambition, sense of urgency, competitiveness and involvements which have deadlines.Type D individuals tend to experience negative emotions like hostility, anxiety, anger, depressed mood, tension, and a negative view of themselves. They are likely to be constantly on alert for signs of impending trouble and to overreact to stressful events. An equally important factor in the type D personality is the inability to express these emotions, which leads to feeling tense, insecure, and uncomfortable in social situations.

I suppose techinically, there are only two types, type A and type B, but most people are a mixture of the two.
