New England is lovely in the fall. They have the right sort of forests, and they make lots of lovely locally-prepared foods that they dry or can and otherwise preserve for the winter, and you will eat very well. And sleep soundly in a cozy small bed and breakfast. Go shopping for quilt supplies, collectibles of all sorts, camping gear -- just thinking of the companies with whom I do business that are in the New England area.

Going to a tropical Island, this is a great time of year as long as there are no hurricanes. The weather is not as hot as it is during the summer. I would recommend splurging for your honeymoon and going to an all inclusive resort like Sandles or Beaches.

Italy. It's beautiful in the fall. Honestly, seeing the sites in the autumn weather is SO romantic.
