If you're just starting to get your period, it's perfectly natural for it to be kinda unsteady. It may take awhile before your cycle starts actually, you know, cycling, instead of coming some months and not others.

Other reasons for periods not to happen, besides pregnancy, include stress, illness, weight fluctuations, and being underweight. I think, in your case, it's probably just that it just started and hasn't stabilized yet. Give it a bit.

When you first start having periods, it's not uncommon for them to be irregular. Give it some time, and if they don't start regulating themselves, talk to a doctor. Often times they will prescribe birth control to help your periods be more regular and predictable. Hope I helped!

My gf misses her period once every few months. I think the doc told her it can be due to stress and poor diet, among other things.
