Wash it either by hand or in the machine washer in cold water. Turning the jersey inside-out will help keep the numbers and logos in top condition, as they will not be subjected to the direct friction of the wash.
However, do not put it in the dryer. The dryer is the worst thing for any jersey, especially today's polyester blend jerseys. Just hang it up on a drying rack (or anything that allows air to circulate around it).

If it was me I would use one of those Tide spot pens on any large stains, turn it inside out, and wash it according to which it applies to- light or dark. Then I would pop it in the dryer for a bit but not for to long, in case it shrinks. Then take it out and lie it flat on a thick towel draped over the back of the couch or on the bed until it air dries.
