I live in South Dakota and earlier this year our Gov. signed a bill making it illegal for Dr.s to perform an abortion with the only exception being if the mothers life is in danger.
There are also provisions in the law that the Gov. signed that would help protect and bring justice to the mothers of children concieved in rape.
Because of opposition it is going to a public vote here in SD in Nov.
I personally plan to vote YES to keep it a law and send a message to the rest of the country that the Killing of innocent unborn babies stops here in South Dakota.

Why is it that our culture see's killing innocent babies inside their mother's womb acceptable? Who's gonna speak for that child in the womb?
And as far as the child not being alive till it's born, science has proven that wrong, that life begins at conception.

I so support that bill. I'm not sure when some people kill their babies ( who never asked to be conceived) they don't know that if they go through an agency that they could get paid for their child they don't want. So many couples would love to give that baby a loving home, I am not sure why they don't like to look at that option (possibly because the abortion place says not to), but who knows? The women never have to have contact with their child ever either. It's just sad to me that many thousands of women don't seem to have a conscious or a heart about the life they kill. God Bless!!

I live in Iowa and I personally agree with the law actually. I don't think that people should use abortion as a way to get out of a pregnancy when they are capable of giving it up for adoption to families that are willing to care and love for a child. Too many people get pregnant and then use abortion to end it and I think that is wrong. Amen to your Gov. and I pray more states do the same.
And to the person who just said that anyone can have a miscarriage, I am speaking as a person that has had many of them. I will tell you right now that having an abortion is nothing like going through a miscarriage because when you have an abortion you KNOW what you are doing not only to yourself but the unborn child. In a miscarriage it just happens with no reason or expectation of it happening. No one is sayin the law is right or wrong, and if you read the question he asked what do you think about the law, so how is this question to be reported as abuse?? I just wanted to let you know that the comment on miscarriage was wrong and very hurtful.

I think that it should be voted to be kept. I am strongly against abortion other than 2 reasons, those being 1)the mother being raped and 2) if the mother's life is in danger. Myself being a victim of rape, at the time it happen would not have been able to care for a child not to mention what health problems I could've contracted or dealt with carrying a child at the age of 13. As far as the mother's life being at risk, I feel that it is ok for an abortion because a child needs to have a mother role in their life and if something tragic were to happen to the mother what would happen to that child, especially if the father was not in the picture. If I were in South Dakota I would vote yes, to keep the law for abortion to be ok due to the mothers life being in danger and i would vote yes to add the mother being a victim of rape.

I believe that your question is in fact NOT a question. When you say that you plan to vote "YES", you have already answered what you are calling a question. My question to you is: Why did you post your opinion and call it a question. I am sorry but I think you are in violation of Community Guide Lines and I must report you as such. By the way, Every Murdering, stealing, Raping individual man woman or child, was once an innocent baby in someones womb. I am in agreeance with the Law to make it illegal. That is murder.
When a child is concieved, that is life......even just a tiny egg. God created us to marry and have families and respectfully so, those that are in situations where they should have abstained, then they need to let that child live. Their are thousands of couples in this world who cannot have children who would love to adopt a child. Abortion is just wrong.

The government has no right to make decisions about reproduction for women. This places an undue burden on the women of your state who wish to have an abortion (within the first trimester, which is typically the time when the medical community finds it acceptable.) I find it reprehensible that so many people in this nation are willing to revoke the rights of women.

i am against the killing of babies and i do think abortion is horrible but my friend gave me a good reason why it should be legal and ill share. if someone does want to get rid of a baby and they are not allowed to have a doctor perform the surgery then they will be more inclined to find alternatives which can hurt both the mother and the baby very badly

I don't understand how it is fair to make Abortion Illegal.
Some children just should not be born.
When a women is rapped, I don't understand why she should have to have that child.
When a mother does Heroin, I don't understand why she should have a child.
When a mother is incompetent I do not understand why she should have a child.
In are only in control of your body, you should be in control of some one Else's body or life.
Babies are not born in till they are born, any one can have a miscarriage.
Birth control kills thousands of a babies a day.
A CONDOM kills thousands of babies a day.
Next your going to make those illegal.
A baby is not alive in till it is born.

Unless the provision in the law allows women who are raped to get an abortion, I would not support it.
