The aim of the terrorists is to remove the influence of the west so that they can bring a 'pure' nation of Islam into being over their holy sites in Saudi Arabia and other parts of the middle east.
The whole neocon plan is flawed because it is based on a belief that the people of the middle east WANT freedom. They do not have the concept of free-will being given from God in order to allow the choice of good. Islam asks for obedience. By breaking our freedoms, neocons weaken our strength and attractiveness to the non-allied countries.
The terrorist-supporting sects of Islam have expanded their influence into eastern countries and Africa by means of charities and madrassa schools. Republican cuts in the area of foreign aid have left this vacuum for them to fill. Terrorists clearly are bent on expanding - too bad we took down the only fully secular state in the middle east - Saddam may have been a despot - but he was not waging a holy war against the west.
Terrorists could care less what loss of freedom we have had. They scorn us for our freedom - believing it is a cause of immorality.

As long as people won't sacrifice by paying a war tax and bringing back the draft, the terrorists are winning. But there may come a time when things get out of hand and Americans wake up. Saying "9-11 changed everything" when it's changed us only superficially is part of the problem.

plankseer, you are almost as stupid as Clinton during the Wallace interview. I guess you don't listen to CNN much. That's where most of this dribble comes from, to begin with!
Personally, I'm not afraid. Under GWB, I feel somewhat secure. I like having a president who knows how to pull the trigger, when it needs to be pulled. Body counts don't bother me either, neither does collateral damage, as long as it's the other guys. That's a little paraphrase from George Patton.
The cut and run guys you're referring to are John Kerry, in Vietnam, Bill Clinton in Russia (protesting Vietnam), Teddy Kennedy at Chappaquiddick (abandoning Kopekne), and that's just to name a few of the living liberals of our time.
So, I believe you've got your message back asswards, when you talk about fear. My fear is the stupid electorate of the US, if they bring in some diplomacy freak like clinton, who believes these problems with the muslims can be resolved with diplomacy rather than daisy cutters.

What kind of dumbass question is that???? Should we just turn the other cheek and let them continue to launch major attacks on our country? Or are you on the grassy knoll where they think Bush created 9/11???
Change the essence of our country? What is the essence of our country? I think it is freedom. And we still have that....I'm not wearing a berka, I can still work, my nieces can go to school, and I don't have terrorists taking over my home to hide bombs and themselves in....so, no they have not won.
I invite you to go live elsewhere if you think this country is so bad.

Yes. Fear, division, and erosion of civil rights is playing into the terrorists hands. They have succeeded in sowing discord and dividing us, and making us forget what makes this country great.

Thank the liberal news media for the left sided spin on the war and everything associated. How come we hear daily about our casualties, but they never report enemy casualties? The only time they report anything is when they can label the casualties as "civilian" like there is such a thing in a civil war which has foreign terrorists holding people hostage.
I much rather see that fighting occuring there than on Main Street USA.

No...Once they started attacking America & other countries they brought themselves into the spotlight,& America reacted to the attacks by persuing Ladin..The US has known about Ladin for years,(thank the former Gov. staff for not reacting)& are now making an effort to destroy them,..It will be a tiresome effort as the groups grow in numbers now,but one worth doing in my opinion..why let it get worse than it already is?I don't want anymore attacks on my homeland! So are you suggesting we not react to the attacks? If not then what do we do???Wait for more?

If the terrorists had already won, you'd know it, because you would be picking up a gun, putting it into your liberal hands and protecting your family.
