You're not an idiot. Bush has taken none of our rights away. He has taken the terrorists rights away. The government should have the right to intercept overseas calls from "terrorist countries and listen for " key words" such as "bomb", "murder", "hijack" and so on. The idiots at the ACLU would have you think that in some way this endangers our right to privacy. Personally, they can listen in on all my conversations. They'd be pretty damned bored.

After reading the answers above me, it is clear the anti-Bush people do not have an answer to this one. So what do they do? They call you an idiot, make personal attacks on you....wow, what a surprise. Those that did try to answer made very lame arguments mostly for wire tapping. Evidently they do not value the security it ensures them and their children. If someone is having a conversation with a known or suspected terrorist overseas, of course it is in our best interest to know what they are talking about. That is not rocket science. But some people are so blind with hate for Bush they are not seeing clearly.

You should read the patriot act...........Anyone and I mean Anyone who commits a crime that put people in danger is a terrorist, meaning that they can pursue them as they would a terrorist. PETA is a terrorist organization, meaning that the 4 amendment doesn't really apply to them since the label of " Terrorist " gives probable cause for any search or seizure at anytime.

Where have you been, these past 8 years?

I voted for him...the lesser of the evils...and he has inded done massive damage to our nation...

Immigration Irreform...illegals pouring in over the border

the NAFTA Highway...what a rip-off and thinly veiled opportunity to create a super power with South America, Mexico and Canada....a power grab....which will end in war.

I would go on, but you really need to do your own research.

Our phone calls can be tapped without anyone to keep those listening in check. Lots of black voters in Florida got ignored in 2000 (voting is a right, by the way), and the religious right is waging a war on all kinds of rights such as the right to an abortion, to who can adopt the kids that aren't aborted, to who can even use birth control or even learn about birth control.

Every sitting head of state gets criticism. So, it does not matter what the critics are saying, unless the head is doing right for the country.

There is the wiretapping thing, which he sorta did tell a bit of a fib about.

Suspected terrorist (Where the line is drawn of who is a terrorist and who isnt remains to be seen) can be held for indefinate amount of time. These can be citizens of united states.

Few others, do internet search its easily found.

He made it so the police don't need a warrent to spy on you, listen to your calls, read your mail/email.

He took away geneva convention rights so that the prisoners of war we captured can be tortured at will.

He took your tax dollars and spent them on invading a country a massacreing its citizens (110,000 and counting).
