Since Canada is multi-cultural should all languages not be accepted. If Yahoo was to do this it would be very annoying to non bilingual persons. Perhaps Quebec should have their own site to facilitate the french speaking people. If you check the rules it is not allowed to speak in another language. Have you ever considered there are Italian, Latin, Spanish etc. speaking people on this site who are happy to follow the rules? Why not try the France site under International and perhaps they can facilitate you? Best of Luck

I don't agree with doglovers answer. Through the BNA act French Canadians are guaranteed the right to French, their schools and religion. Canada may be a multicultural society, however, there were only two founding nations of Canada. English and French. Therefore, the other languages do not have the same privilege. However, the guidelines to this site specify that your questions must be asked in English. Same as when you go to the yahoo site in France or Germany. The questions must be asked in French or German.
I think if enough people out there petition yahoo,a French venue might be created. Better still yahoo should give the choice:"Do you want the English or French site"
Keep asking for it.
Bonne chance!.

Constitutional? I agree with the others in here who pointed out that we agreed to speak English in here.

A side note: do you have any idea how many Canadians I hear pleading 'the fifth'. What they are trying to do is to not be forced into saying something that would incriminate them (not in court or anything, people just hanging around).

Canucks picked that up from American TV. However, to plead the 'fifth' in Canada has a different connotation. The fifth amendment to our constitution requires that Parliament sit twice a year... We have no right not to incriminate ourselves! Either in English or French.

Makes you think, n'est-ce pas?

Being constitutional has nothing to do with why your posed question was deleted. The rules of this site state that your questions must be asked in English.
