"In the next century, the community of nations may see more and more the very kind of threat Iraq poses now -- a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction ready to use them or provide them to terrorists, drug traffickers or organized criminals who travel the world among us unnoticed.

If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow by the knowledge that they can act with impunity, even in the face of a clear message from the United Nations Security Council and clear evidence of a weapons of mass destruction program."

President Clinton
Address to Joint Chiefs of Staff and Pentagon staff
February 17, 1998

"It is the duty of any president, in the final analysis, to defend this nation and dispel the security threat. Saddam Hussein has brought military action upon himself by refusing for 12 years to comply with the mandates of the United Nations. The brave and capable men and women of our armed forces

Yes...
Nobody really lied. They all based their judgements on the same intel. Some was good. Some bad. Overall we are better off with Saddam gone & not a threat to his neighbors. The status quo of embargoes & No fly zones could not have gone on forever.

We all know he had the weapons. He had 18 months after 911 to move them to Syria. All on tape...truckload after truckload. Democrats would be much more useful putting their energies into investigating that fact instead of calling Bush a liar. They voted on the war using the same info. Bush had.

how conveniently forgetful Cons are!

Bush and co insisted pre-9/11 that Iraq had no weapons, posed no threats.

After 9/11, they facilitated the fradudulent Iraq-9/11 connection.

They also began suddenly asserting that Iraq had WMDs, citing fraudulent or out-of-date sources.

It's well established Clinton was a liar. It's refreshing to finally see Cons admitting Bush is, too.

W is a liar. His vp and entire administration have lied, cheated, stolen, and done every reprehensible thing possible.

Stop throwing silly quotes, and figure out a way to get us out of this mess we're in because of this lying, cheating, thieving, warmongering GOP administration.

Bush did not lie! He was given bad information from the former "I did not have sex with that woman" president, Clinton. Bush is doing what he has to do to clean up a mess that never should have been put in his lap in the first place!
