Everyone says that they would chose the poor person because the way they treat them is more important than dating a rich person who is too busy for them and not as nice? I have met many nice rich people and some really lousy poor people. I have dated guys with no money that had no time for me and I have been treated bad by poor people just as I have been treated bad by people who were better off. Doesn't seem that everyone defends poor people by saying that they so much nicer when in fact they aren't any more nice or moral than anyone else?

People make assumptions. It is like they assume that all people with disabilities are nice people. Some are. some are as miserable as the rest of society.

I remember the sit com 'night court' where they did a take on this. they tried to be nice to this woman because she was in a wheelchair but she treated everyone like dirt. the harder they tried the grumpier she became. turned out she was like that before her accident. everyone gave up being extra nice to her and just treated her like they would any other miserable person.

people make stupid labels for others based on an inverted sort of prejudice. white people who try not to be prejudice often try to assume that all nonwhites are very nice, caring human beings who just need a hand up in life. some are. some will slit your throat for a nickle. just like some white people.

"everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people". those people overgeneralize. because they are stupid.

There is no set rhyme or reason.. good/bad..rich/poor. But a lot of rich folks (key word a lot) act like they are something on a stick...just need the stick. Same way with some poor folks (key word a lot)...are pissed because they feel left out. So, you just meet the person ..on neutral grounds..like them/or dislike them for who they are...not what they got!.. you'll both be better for it...could be great friends.

Try to put little stock in any generalizations at all
Nice people are not poor. Poor people are not nice.
Black people are not lazy, White people are not superior,
Religious people are not singled out as better
Homosexuals are not sinners
Take each person openly and on an equal playing field, Sooner or later they will disclose themselves to you.

"Everyone" takes in more territory than you can defend. Depending on what street corner you hang around, you can hear just about anything. I've been wandering around American now for nearly 60 years and I've yet to hear anyone comment on the cordiality of either economic group one way or the other. You might consider making up your own mind and let everyone say what they want.

Rich or poor. Kindness comes from the person's heart.

well, it's obviously not necessarily true. but perhaps its becuase having less money seems more humbling to some people, and therefore, they assume those more humble, are nicer, although neither is true.

Well, religious people want you to think there's something holy about being poor, and sinister about being materialistic and rich.

That's all I've got.
