omg no she's toooo young! she's probably lying when she says her friends have one! noooooo it's not safe. soon she;'s gonna want to meet the people in person. wat if they are 50 year old pedophiles who live alone in basements of a widowed women who are blind! ok that's a little extreme but it is too much to worry about. right now she should be talking with her friends about barbie and neopets. Why don't u make her a neopets account instead? she'll enjoy it and u don't have to worry about anything. Tell her that everyone on myspace will be older then her and get her interested in neopets. tell her it is more appropriate for her age. Good luck!

PS: i wanna point out that the registration for myspace says u have to be at least 17 years old to have an account! i wonder why...

1. Myspace doesn't allow anyone under 14. But you could always lie about her age.. but don't because that's just stupid. Myspace is a great way to keep up with friends who live far away but for a six year old to use it... well, no, just no.

2. Can she even type? I mean I have a 6 year old sister and she can't type. This would effect her ability to actually type IMs. Why don't you have her start off with email. That way she can talk to her friends online without all the dangers of preditors.

NO...This is one of those time where you need to stop being a WIMP (another word for pushover) and stand your ground. So if other mothers are letting thier 6y/o wear mini's and play on the street corner you'd do it to?

Breath...

Okay if you want your daughter in the information age let her have an email account that ONLY YOU have the password to. That way you can check for any junk mail about viagara and crap before she sees them. Set up the email account so it only accepts emails from people in her address book or safe list. YOU should know who is in her address book and safe list.

Suck it up...eventually your daughter is going to hate you for just being alive....if you keep on being a push over she's going to hate you...no think less of you for that too

Stay away from Myspace but you can probably consider aim as all you do is talk with your friends. Myspace can be dangerous!
