Yes to what I see if it serious, and it depends on what I'm reading.
If it something of a serious nature, like an academic subject,
current events, or something like that, the answer is yes.
If it is something that isn't so serious, the answer is no.
An example would be watching something that is for
entertainment purposes, like a music video. That's an
interesting question. MuchMusic in Canada has a TV show
that actually analyzes music videos called Video on Trial
with a guest panel of analysts every week. If it is something
that needs to be analyzed or is worthy of analysis, the answer
is yes, otherwise it is probably no.

Yes I do. I used to be young & gullible & then with education & life experiences, I learned to look at the source of material, think about the purpose of what I'm seeing, who benefits & who or what is being written or talked about. The most important part of my excellent education was how to evaluate the situation; be aware of what's going on & how & why I'd be affected, interested, helped or disadvantaged by the information. I now do it automatically. It's helped me control, analyze & learn about my feelings, anger, happiness, etc & to accept the things, people & circumstance around me. This is a very honest answer to a very interesting question. It helps to write down your thoughts once in a while. I know I think a lot but do not write about them enough.

To be honest I analyze both. Most times I analyze what I see more often. Hope this gives you insight.

I analyze everything I see, read or hear. My wife has launched an unannounced campaign to convince me that this is unusual behavior. Or at least that is what I have surmised from her reactions to things I analyze.

Why are you asking me that?
LOL ... more often than not, I am trying to understand the motive of the author. The source of his opinions, etc.
For example, the Pope's comments about Islam.
Did the Media take it out of context for a sensationalist story?
Was the pope confusing his present job (representing Catholics) with his old job (protecting the faith - inquisition office)?

Not alot. I take things at face value and I believe what I believe. Analysis is for scientists and I am not a scientist.

Only if it catches my attention. For me, first impression on its initial content matters greatly.
