a Good friend to america died recently

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.

Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Panadol, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; by his wife, Discretion; by his daughter, Responsibility; and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by three stepbrothers:
I Know My Rights,
Someone Else is to Blame,
I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

If you still remember him, pass this on. If not join the majority and do nothing.

I stay in Phoenix and function been observing on the information. this would be a terrible component for those people who've watched those human beings on television bringing us the information day in and outing. i understand they have been following a motor vehicle chase and one copter have been given to on the brink of the different and that they collided, we expect of there have been 3 human beings on the channel 3 copter and a pair of on the channel 15 copter. They dropped immediately down after the collision right into a park and there would not look anybody on the floor harm right now. God bless their families and to those that labored with them besides.

Most repair manuals are far more interesting than you, and far less turgid to read. There's nothing wrong with you that couldn't be cured with a little Prozac and a polo mallet, or, better yet, suicide. Maybe you wouldn't come across as such a jellyfish-sucking mental midget if you weren't so dumb that even blondes tell jokes about you; if your weren't so fat that a "Place Your Billboard Ad Here" is printed on each of your butt cheeks, or if you didn't have a face that is registered as a biological weapon. No, come to think of it, you would.

Common sense died along with common courtesy.

While we're at it; whatever happened to the policy for buisnesses that "The customer is always right?" Nowadadys their policy is "take the costomer's money and scr*w him/her as soon as his back is turned."

I have thought for a long time that common sense and common decency are both in trouble with today's decadent world.
Thanks for the posting to remind people of this!

This is a true tragedy.,.just look what is going on with nyc now.The liberal want to ban saturated fats from all restaurants.Common sense has died. And our country is dying with it.Great question.

I must make a correction..,its transfat not saturated fats and thanks for the heads up.But again liberals policing what we eat.Just like they had gone after Kraft and no snack or soda machines in schools.Enough is enough,we no longer have the common sense to make our own choices..,we need to police common sense??Come on people wake up and they say republicans are taking away rights and civil liberties. If I want to eat a 1lbs greasey cheese burger with lots of miracle whip thats my business and not the libs.

Common sense hasn't died, he/she just isn't getting much attention these days. We should all visit him/her a little more often.
