Alright. Will someone tell me who did the ORIGINAL version of Love Will Tear Us Apart? Some websites tell me Joy Division and some told me Paul Young. And don't say Fall Out Boy did it, because I know they weren't the originals.

Ian Kevin Curtis (July 15, 1956 – May 18, 1980) was an English singer-songwriter born in the Memorial Hospital, Old Trafford, Stretford, near Manchester, Lancashire. He was the vocalist, lyricist and live guitarist of the band Joy Division, which he helped form in 1977 in Manchester.

he wrote and sang the original version.

The song appears on the Substance compilation album. It was first recorded for a John Peel session in November 1979, then re-recorded in January 1980 and March 1980. It is the latter version that appears on Substance. The January 1980 version originally appeared as the single's B-sides.
