And you wonder why your Son has racist attitudes? Try listening to your own mindless racist rants! Learning about cultures other than your own is not about making one race more important than another it's about breeding some understanding and tolerance rather than jumping to mindless racist conclusions!

Well, if all parents of all the children in England take the same tack, we are all in for a terrible journey.

True enough things are taking a turn that appears that the original residents of these isles, the ones that faced the bombs in WW2 and paid in for pensions are now being told that there is not going to be enough in the pot for them. The National Health system is quaking at the knees. But this is down to our government to recognise there are boundaries and limitations as are in other countries.

I think there is a lot to be said for Australia s attitude of if you don't like it, sling your hook! And the old adage, WHEN IN ROME DO AS THE ROMANS DO!?!?

But if we knew that we could be better off in another country, would we not be packing our cases right now?

Not all Muslim's are radical terrorists, there are many respectable families trying to raise their families and live happy lives. May be we are in danger of generalisation here.

Ignorance is not bliss, it causes hatred and misunderstanding, we need to be educated about one another, so it works both ways, we all need to know and understand one another NOT HATE one another.

I'd be interested to learn about the muslim religion. I know there is more to it than burkas and suicide bombers. It would be good for us all to know a bit more.

It might be fun to know the odd word too. It will make it easier to pick up other languages if he learns the principles.

Anyway, he's only 10. It's not as if he has to take an exam in it.

No one is questioning that they should be able speak English. He is not learning their language so that they don't have to learn English. That is a futile point to make and makes you look stupid and ignorant.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. In France (which is in the EU) it is the second biggest religion. I think its good that schools are teaching children about cultures outside of Europe because it increases understanding. Why do English people like yourself expect other cultures to learn English when you don't make an effort to learn about their cultures.

Knowledge is power.

Being made aware of a mindset that for good or ill, has influence in the world today may be no bad thing.

But I am out of touch with what is actually happening in schools. I was taught the rudiments of Islam and Hinduism as part of RE, a quarter of a century ago. What in particular has rattled your cage?

Whatever happened to freedom ? That would be my question..but I'm here to answer yours, so here we go !
Firstly, I can " feel" your passion and I can also understand why you're so angry ! I must confess to feeling just like you do, but believe me, it won't get you anywhere !! You'll just end up with high blood pressure !!
You're right, of course you are, but unless we are actually willing to do something..anything..about all this, then we might just have to accept the fact that the world ( as we know it) is changing ! Change is being forced upon us with such force that we don't know how to feel, act or what to think. We feel threatened as a nation, we fear the worst and we don't want anything " forced" on us that we are not ready for .
Of course your son shouldn't be taught about Islam,or anything else if he doesn't want to know about those things, but our schools are evolving just like everything else, so he may not have a choice..unless..parents ( like you ) who feel that strongly about it, publicly object !
Perhaps it is about time that the people of Britain started to make a stand, we are willing to be tolerant of others, but we have the right , just like everyone else, to voice our opinions.
Religious education has always been a part of the curriculum, I remember being taught about Islam, as well as Judaism..Christianity etc, we never had a problem with it a few years ago ! We have a problem with it now because we feel as though it is being forced on us, there are other issues here .
Knowledge, education is important, it is power ..but not if it makes people angry . Your son has the right to choose how he feels and what he learns, be it right or wrong !

It won't be long before we will have our children coming home with homework in Bulgarian, Hungarian, Croatian.... etc etc While I don't blame anyone in the world taking the chance to have a better way of life.... but the Government is just taking the pee now. Hellloooo Mr Blair... CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME!!!!
Both of my teenage children have had arguements with teachers for just the same reasons as your son.... And to top it all... when my daughter marked down that she would like to have a go at learning Urdu.. she was turned down, because the class would have been full of fluent asian kids and the teacher wouldn't be prepared to have a beginner in the class holding up the others...
How's that for Racist!!!!!

It seems to me you need to learn how to speak English.if your son's a racist it's because of you...At the end of the day we live in a world were all people of all colors and creeds exist,so instead of people getting renk all the time, educate yourself in some much needed multi cultural experiences then maybe your view wouldn't be so narrow minded.....

Yes. An English country should always be English, but to teach your son to be racist will not fix the problem. Teach your son to love his English heritage without teaching hate for others. Possibly done. God bless you and your people the English.

The Muslims are taking over while we are politically correct. They won't even allow a church in their country. People better smarten up and stop calling anyone racist that disagrees with them.
