Sreesanth is a Hindu and a firm believer at that too. But he used to go a church close to his house at Kochi in younger days and his family members as well as other local Hindus of the area used to participate in the Church's activities as well as its annual festival celebrations. Hence he makes the cross sign but a devout Hindu.Haven't you ever heard some thing called "communal harmony"?
