Da Vinci is Italian, not Russian. I would suggest looking through wikipedia AND going to your local library to find information on that subject.

Leonardo da Vinci was ITALIAN
start by looking him up in an excyclopedia as: da Vinci, Leonardo to get basic facts
After that you can go to a library, he is very famous and there are many books with his name as the subject.
He is famous as a painter, sculptor, designer of machines, architct.
Ignore stuff about a modern book called "Da VInci Code" it would not fit in your report

I've seen many of his works when in Italy - he's one of my favorites.

He had a keen eye and quick mind that led him to make important scientific discoveries, yet he never published his ideas.
He was a gentle vegetarian who loved animals and despised war, yet he worked as a military engineer to invent advanced and deadly weapons.
He was one of the greatest painters of the Italian Renaissance, yet he left only a handful of completed paintings.
