I come from eastern culture lived in US for long time. I am talking to this girl and we get along perfectly... we can talk share ideas and chemistry is just perfect. We both feel the same way. But she is religious.. And wants the same thing in me. I tried tellig her this should come from my heart. It is not right to do it to get to you.

Agreed. Are you simply wanting confirmation that spirituality has to come from within? Maybe if you explain to her that to pretend to be part of her religion would be dishonest and you both know dishonesty is bad. At the same time, is there any harm in accompanying her to one of her religion's events? That doesn't mean you're "converting", it simply shows that you're willing to learn about it. She accepts you as you are in other ways. If she can't accept this way as well, then move on.

Well.... religion is an important part of life to a lot of people. If your not in angreement as far as religion goes, then really, it's over. If it were something simple, that would be different. But religion is a biggy. I think you should just remain friends and nothing more.

No its not right. IF you are both such good friends then she should respect how you feel. Not everybody is religious and if she can not accept you for who you are then you have some decisions you need to make. Tell her how uncomfortable she is making you feel and that she should respect your decision if she is truly your friend.

I think you are right. Without a religious connection any relationship is going to fail. It would be wrong of you to pretend to be religious just to make her happy.
