Yes, in fact, I teach it to my ninth graders. It's a delightful short story with an ironic ending. A young girl has the most beautiful hair in the world; her husband has a wonderful pocketwatch. The girl (Della) has very little money to buy her husband a gift for Christmas, so she goes to a wig-maker and receives twenty dollars for her gorgeous locks. As the story progresses, she finds a perfect gift for her husband; but she worries what her husband will think of her new hair. The ending will surprise and please you.
