I'm sure fans of these teams may argue, but this is my take on each of them - some are easier than others. For instance, on some teams, I would trust on pitcher over another in a playoff game, but would call the other the best pitcher. So it's difficult. But anyway, I take into account that these are all teams either going to the playoffs and/or in playoff contention.
My selections will reflect who I would be most confident in winning a Game 7 of the WS scenario. Here they are:
1. Yankees - Mussina
2. Dodgers - Derrick Lowe
3. Tigers - Kenny Rogers
4. Padres - Jake Peavy
5. Twins - Johan Santana
6. Cards - Chris Carpenter
7. A's - Barry Zito
8. Mets - Tommy Glavine
9. Astros - Roger Clemens (so tough not to say Oswalt)
10. Phillies - Brett Myers

Mo, Lowe, Verlander, Hoff, Santana, Carpenter, Zito, Wagner, Ozwalt, Hamels
Anyone who thinks Randy Johnson is the Ace of the Yankee pitching staff is in for a rude awakening.
Mo is the best. There are several others in the bullpen that are relied upon more than Unit. Mussina and Wang are 1a and 1b as far as the starters go.
