Like child molesters or drug pushers or rapists or pedophiles of people who have committed violent crimes? Of course not! Not unless there is proof beyond a reasonable doubt that they’ve reformed and can redeem themselves.

And what about our Yahoo Answers Community? What about twice convicted and twice banned abusers like John Skerry? Should they be allowed to return to Yahoo, still abusing the rules and guidelines, still personally attacking other Yahoo users with insults and name-calling?

Carla, I agree with you completely and I rarely would ever resort to name-calling or personal attacks and I've never been removed from Yahoo, but a few people here have for repeted abuse and still they return to abuse again.

My honest opinion is that those convicted of the same crime twice were given the opportunity to change and refused to do so.

As for John Skerry III:
There are quite a few on here, he being the most blatant case, who get banned and then break the rules and come back under a new name. The problem is that instead of banning user-names, Yahoo needs to start banning IP's. That will cut down on the rampant abuse of multiple identities like Shiraz got booted for, too. Eventually, Yahoo will wake up and realize this, but in the meantime, I choose to just ignore people like him.

As for his "valid thoughts and ideas" argument, I'm still waiting to hear one of those from him that isn't vindictive and hate-filled.

Are you not violating the guidelines yourself with the personal attack?Just because one doesnt agree with the other deems it necessary to report abuse as a sort of pay back. One needs to grow up and learn there are two sides to opinions and it can be done with out personal attacks and destroying ones character.
And seeing that you are aware that he has been suspended twice sounds to me like you have a personal vindeta against John Skerry.Think I would find something more productive than to be obcessed with ones record of suspensions.

I have seen John Skerrys questions and answers and we all need to get a sense of humor.I voice my opinion and because mine differs from another person I have recieved hate mail and threats through the mail.It is easy to judge when someone doesnt know a full story..,or maybe you do.

The USSR had a parasite law that actually worked very well.

Anyone with money and no job was at first suspected of being a parasite. they were given 30 days to find real employment, or off to Siberia.

It was focused on Drug dealers and sex workers and criminals. It was not rehabilitation or a complete prevention; but it put the brunt of first offenders back to work. And the repeat offenders in a labor camp.

I like John Skerry (off forum) but there are times that I would love to get an Email from him saying he was in the Gulag.

I'm gonna say NO to the pedophiles and yes to John Skerry.

Comparing YAHOO and convicted criminals is like comparing dust to the earth. (one significantly "bigger" than the other in the scope of things)

Why ask a question and then answer it yourself?
