It is said that we dislike the people who show traits of the very things we dislike within ourselves.......?

It is often said we find it hard to accept, or even like some people, because we recognise in them the very things we dislike about ourselves......surely this is only true to a certain extent...what do you think?.....

I think this is true. I've disliked people before and realized that what I really couldn't stand was that they were like me in a certain way that i don;t like. for example, I couldn't stand Jessica Simpson because i thought she was conceited and always had to be the center of attention. Then I realized (truthfully) that that was something about myself that i didn't like. I'd probably be the same way if I was famous like her. So, yes to an extent I do beliveve you dislke about other people what you don't like in yourself. i think its because you know what you don''t like about yourslef so those same traits stand out more obvious in others.

But....this isn't always the case. I don't like rapists or murderers and I'm not a rapist or murderer, nor do i have any raping or murdering tendencies. So it all depends on the situation and the person I guess.

Nope, not to me at least. I like people that are most alike me and dislike those that do things I hate, and I don't do those things myself. Maybe to others, depends on the person.

I think that this may be true......... I don't like my brother cause he's annoying. While he's annoying, I'm a pest to my friend Ne-chan.*i'm not touching u!* So yeah I guess so.^_^

i think if we dislike something i doesnt matter who is doing it, including ourself
