Yes his original/real costume had wings on his head.

But ALL of the heroes have been resign when they entered the Marvel's "Ultimate" universe.

More info can be found be

The "Ultimate" franchise is an attempt to reach and appeal to a modern age of audience.

For example, Spiderman is a 16-year old web-programmer instead of an older photographer and Nick Fury is a younger black guy instead of an older white guy.

The ultimate artist must have thought that Captain America's wings would have looked too silly for the modern audience so they removed it (yeah i couldn't adjust to his new look for a while too... I still miss the wings).

The bottom line is that Marvel's "Ultimate" characters aren't the same ones who've been around since the 60's. The Ultimate universe was created as a newer, more edgy version of Marvel, allowing the writers to completely "re-imagine" the characters without sticking to the 40 years of previous storytelling and continuity.

There are many changes in the look, abilities and history of the characters. For example, in the Ultimate universe, Fury is a black man, Reed Richards is a teenager, Tony Stark's identity as Iron Man is public knowledge, Captain America is REALLY strong (like Ben Grimm level), and the Hulk resulted from Bruce Banner trying to recreate the original super-soldier serum that made Cap.

The original Ultimates 12-issue limited series was among the best comic books ever printed. Unfortunately when they decided to create the animated movie, it had to be toned down for younger audiences and a few other changes to characters were made.

In the main (non-ultimate) Marvel Universe, Cap's costume still has wings on his temples.

it really isn't any longer somewhat unforgivable if it really is a sturdy tale it really is significant. And enable's settle for it, in case you imagine he isn't any longer coming again, then i have were given some land you're drawn to procuring... enable's settle for it although, although Captain u . s . a . of america is an icon, his solo e book has tended to promote somewhat poorly for a lengthy time period now. no longer that it somewhat is an excuse to easily off the guy, in spite of the indisputable fact that it really is exciting how some many human beings whine about Cap being killed at the same time as maximum of those human beings do not even study his books.
