I think I understand your question so I will try to answer it. I don't really understand what you mean by legal remedies?

As a rape victim or a socially abused person there are standard routes of legal action. The first thing to do is see a lawyer and find out what is possible where you live and according to the act commited.

Though going through this process and seeing the person pay the legal price is something you should do I have noticed it is often only the start of the healing process.

It's strange but with crimes such as rape the victim can often feel like a social outcast. It is a very tough thing to overcome. For this reason I would also suggest the following.

The first thing I would recommend is some form of counselling or therapy. I would shop around for this and try different types till you find a therapist that suits you and a style that works for you. There are so many different types now.

I would also try to find a victims support group of some sort. I find that when you feel at a point of despair sometimes meeting with people who have had similar experiences as you but are a little further down the road to recovery can give you some light at the end of the tunnel. It can give you some real hope and the opportunity to talk to people who truly understand what you have gone through is priceless.

Again the 'legal remdies' thing I don't totally get. Could you maybe expand on that if you want more accurate answers?

Hope I have helped anyway.

Take care and good luck.
