Your doctor will probably order on during your next visit. If they don't say anything about it you should ask them when you will be having one.

Unless you're high risk, you should have an ultrasound 18-20 weeks. You can request one, but your doc may or may not give you one. They're looking for developmental things in the ultrasound so there's a certain time frame they want to give it to you. Also, there is a lot of controversy on the effect of the ultrasound rays on a fetus so unless there's a problem, you won't have more than necessary.

Normally your doctor or midwife will book you an ultrasound between 16 and 20 weeks. If they have not done so already, perhaps bring it up at your next visit or give them a call. This is the optimal time for them to determine dates and see a clear picture of babies development.

You should be getting one between 16-20 weeks to determine the baby's development and the sex if you want.If they haven't scheduled you for one yet call the Dr to find out when.I have one almost every visit but I'm also a high risk pregnancy.I've miscarried twice and a few weeks ago lost one of my twins.Good luck!

You can try asking for one earlier, but it will depend on your doc and/or your insurance. Alot of docs like to wait until atleast 20 weeks since the baby is more formed and it may be easier to tell the sex. I'm 19 weeks now and my doc is making me wait until 22 weeks.

You're only 2 weeks away from an ultrasound anyways. Make an appt. for one now. Talk to your Dr., but your timing is right on. Unless you think something may be wrong, then I would ask for one right away. It's your right to have one. Good luck!

I doubt your dr. will give you one just because you ask for one. They normally will schedule one at around 20 weeks. I think it is more of an insurance thing than anything since they dont want to pay for you to have unnecessary tests.

I'm NOT SURE, WHERE DO YOU LIVE?, I KNOW IN KY. THEY CAN DO ONE AS EARLY AS 8 WKS. especially if there are other medical problems! I know I had 1 done at 12 wks., but I have a hernia also, but they said it was to early to tell the sex of the baby, but my hernia was nowhere near the baby! So anyway Good luck!

you will be getting an ultrasound soon they usually give one between 18-20 weeks to measure the baby's body and to look at organs. so i will hold off plus you will be able to tell what your having then even know now you would be able to tell but your chances are greater then.
