Well both sides will go on a tear.
Republicans will blame the opposition for emboldening the terrorists.
Democrats will blame the Republicans for creating a live fire training ground for terrorists in Iraq and continuing to fuel Arab hatred and resentment of the US.
And then there will be the silent Americans grieving over their lost loved ones, just wishing that both parties would shut up.

If the attack occurs when Conservatives are in power, which I doubt, the Liberals will squeal the loudest. Some will also whine .Their purpose will be to get votes in the next election. They will squeal like a bunch of stuck pigs at the Conservatives.
Their squealing will matter to idiots who don't understand that the Conservatives offer the strongest defense against terrorism.
They will stop squealing when they assume power in the White House and in Congress.
When that happens, the terrorist attacks will increase dramatically. And the Conservatives will be mad as hell. They'll do a lot of justifiable bitching at the Liberals, until the Liberals are once again relegated to the sidelines.

Probably the mayors of the cities that were attacked, after Congress gave all their Homeland Defense money to other states that have very little population, very little of interest to terrorists, but lots of political clout.

I think it will be those who spouted ridiculous conspiracy theories and who believed that Islam was a peaceful religion when all the evidence shows that it isn't.
