Yes, absolutely. In pondering your question I decided to go with the first thing that comes to mind when I hear the words, "hopeless optimist." Beep prepared....
The best example is found in the Wild Kingdumb and is none other than the Fast and Furry-ous, Wizzard of Ow, Hopalong Casualty, known to all and loved by many, Wile E. Coyote!
He is doomed like Sisyphus: forever to try but never to succeed in his endless pursuit of the Roadrunner. His painstaking schemes grow increasingly elaborate but time after time result in yet another episode of War and Pieces.
Coyote's hopeless optimism thrives in spite of the fact that he continually risks life and limb relying on the Acme products which may work for others, but never for him. Does he stop trying! Whoa, Be Gone foolish thought. Wile E. Coyote cannot stop - he is nothing if not a fanatic: "One who redoubles his effort when he has forgotten his aim!" Our beloved Guided Muscle optimistically battles on, certain that his next attempt is sure to succeed (in spite of the script).
